non nobis domine

"Non Nobis Domine"

Not to us, Lord

Humility.

What is true humility?
What does it look like?
What does it sound like?
What does it mean for art?
What does it mean for design?
What about in literature?
Is it pleasing to the eye?
Is it barely noticeable?
Is it ever bold?
Does it compete?
What does it look like in life?

To everything there is a season and a time to every purpose under heaven.

do it well

"Do few things and do them well."
From Brother Sun, Sister Moon about St. Francis of Assisi

The modern day version is "Keep It Simple, Stupid" ~not sure who said that first.

The Little Church
Donovan Leitch

If you want your dream to be
Take your time, go slowly
Do few things but do them well
Heartfelt work grows purely

If you want to live life free
Take your time, go slowly
Do few things but do them well
 Simple joys are holy

Day by day, stone by stone
Build your secret slowly
Day by day, you'll grow too
You'll know heaven's glory

If you want your dream to be
Take your time, go slowly
Do few things but do them well
Heartfelt work grows purely

If you want to live life free
Take your, time go slowly
Do few things but do them well
 Simple joys are holy

Day by day, stone by stone
Build your secret slowly
Day by day, you'll grow too
You'll know heaven's glory

If you want to live life free
Take your time go slowly

...the heck is this about?

...it is about beauty and truth and mystery in art, in nature, in music, in literature, in design, and in creators of all kinds. it is about timelessness. it is about tragedy and pain. it is about redemption and resolution. it is a journal about great works and workers of art...
